Claremont is founded in 1887. It encompasses about 12 square miles of land at the base of the San Gabriel mountains in Los Angeles county. Claremont is situated 30 miles east of the city of Los Angeles.

Claremont is a prestigious community of almost 35,000 people. The community takes pride in its rich cultural and architectural heritage and small-town atmosphere. Claremont is a attractive city, with 140 acres of parks and tree-lined streets. The climate is sunny and warm most of the year. The community is well served by airport at Ontario International Airport, six miles southeast of the city and two commuter and private plane airports nearby.

The Foothill, San Bernadino, and Orange Freeways provide convenient arteries to regional business areas and nearby recreation and entertainment opportunities.
